BLACK COMEDY Working On New Material
July 29, 2009Norwegian modern metallers BLACK COMEDY are currently working on material for their sophomore CD, tentatively due next year. The band says, "The album will be a natural progression into a more sinister and uncompromising style, upgrading the trademark BLACK COMEDY sound that is heard on [2008's] 'Instigator'. We are taking it to the next level."
BLACK COMEDY in January announced the addition of bassist Marius Haraldsen to the group's ranks. According to the band, "[Marius] is a very musical and talented guy who is sure to bring some exciting elements to BLACK COMEDY's music. He is also one of the singers in SERENITY TRACE."
"Instigator" was released in February 2008 through Season of Mist. The CD was recorded at Strand Studio in Oslo Norway during 2007 with producers Marius Strand and Bjorn M. Borg. Described as a display of massive guitar riffing, powerful drums, synthetic leads and ear-shattering epic vocals, "Instigator" contains 12 tracks, with the initial pressing coming in a limited-edition deluxe metal box.
The album artwork features a futuristic concept from designer Vidar Hofmo Bjølgerud at This Fading Dream Design.
